The Directorate is tasked with ensuring prudent financial management in accordance with laws and regulations governing state finances. This involves a comprehensive approach to maintaining financial integrity and accountability within the organisation.

Key activities include preparing and monitoring the Ministry’s budget, controlling expenditure against appropriated funds, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The Directorate processes staff-related expenditures, supplier payments, and collects various revenue sources while compiling financial reports. Additionally, it prepares reports for the Auditor General and addresses any audit queries aimed at the Accounting Officer, thereby promoting transparency and effective stewardship of public funds.
